Substance of Motions

1. Confirmation of AGM minutes

"That the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting of Fusion Political Party held on 26 November 2023 as made available to all members, be confirmed as a true and correct record of the meeting."

2. Accept Financial Statements

"That the Statement of Accounts for the financial year ending 31 July 2024 be approved."

Commitee Elections

The following positions are up for election:

👤 President

Chair of the National Executive Committee and AGM, permanent spokesperson for the party. 

👤 Secretary (and deputy)

Maintain the official membership, handle official correspondence, organise the AGM

👤 Convener (and deputy)

Backup chair of the National Executive Committee, permanent spokesperson for the party. 

👤 National Campaigns Coordinator (and deputy)

Support and coordinate campaigns run by the party and its branches, chair of the National Campaigns committee, permanent spokesperson for the party. 

👤 Registered Officer (and deputy)

Handle official correspondence with the AEC, support the party to complete AEC audits. 

👥 Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) ×5

Resolve internal disputes within the party, rule on constitutional interpretations, handle serious disciplinary matters involving members

Committee Elections

Election of Committee members requires a secret ballot, and the option to "seek further candidates". To make the process easier, elections will be conducted using a secure online platform for a 2 week period following the AGM.

Nominations will be accepted up to 4pm (AEDT), Friday 15th November. Nominees will have the opportunity to address members at the AGM.

Expert speakers

Daryl is a forest scientist with over 3 decades experience in natural resource management in northern Australia. Apart from the Carbon Hub, he is a director of 2 companies involved in delivering services to carbon projects. He registered the very first tree planting project for carbon credits in Australia in 2012 & has particular experience in supporting indigenous savanna burning carbon projects on Cape York Peninsula.

Peter is a Data & AI Specialist for Education at Microsoft, helping Australian educational institutions implement impactful AI projects. He co-founded Transhumanism Australia, advancing tech-driven human enhancement initiatives. Previously, he led emerging technology at KPMG and Deloitte, promoting innovation in times of rapid change. 💻🤖

Greg Chipp is the Managing Director & Chairman of Drug Policy Australia.

Greg has been actively involved in public policy development and politics since the 1970s when he assisted his father, Don Chipp, who founded the Australian Democrats. 

He drives DPA’s policy development and strategic direction, work that reflects his long-standing personal belief in drug reform. In 2013, Greg ran for the Australian Senate to draw attention to the urgent need for new drug laws that protect and help people rather than criminalise and persecute them.
