Substance of Motions
1. Confirmation of AGM minutes
"That the minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting of Fusion Political Party held on 17 November 2024 as made available to all members, be confirmed as a true and correct record of the meeting."
Refer to Minutes of Annual General Meeting held on 17 November 2024 (Google Doc).
2. Accept Financial Statements
"That the Statement of Accounts for the financial year ending 31 July 2025 be approved."
Statement of Accounts to be presented at Annual General Meeting.
3. Constitutional Changes
"That the change to allow a central guideline for HTV preferences as per Link to Changes be approved."
- This allows a flexible guideline to be developed which candidate preferences must adhere to unless they seek approval for an alternative ordering.
- This does not permit specifying a single fixed order. It is structured to prevent nit-picky abuse of powers by the Committee.
- The primary effect of this change is to flip the organisational burden, so that the Exec isn't chasing candidates to find out what they're doing - instead candidates can be expected to do something within the established expectations that the party has agreed is reasonable, or bring proposals to us.
"That the Registered Officer position to be changed to an appointed position as of the AGM in 2026, or the voluntary resignation of the RO, whichever occurs first as per Link to Changes."
- The Registered Officer is a position which requires a good deal of experience and a capacity to navigate AEC bureaucratic requirements.
- It also can demand a high level of responsiveness at various times.
- It is unreasonable to expect an elected position for someone of that ability to be able to commit to responsiveness for a full year with 100% guarantee, and the party currently cannot appoint a replacement if there are challenging or uncertain circumstances.
- The RO will continue to be a member of the Executive Committee or any other delegated entity performing Committee business.
- Context: No other party that we're aware of has an elected RO. Pirates previously had one and changed it to an appointed position for the same reason. In general, this has caused challenges for us in the past and we want to prevent those issues from recurring.

Guest Speakers
Tyrone D'Lisle

Social Media Manager of WePlanet International, and Co-Founder & Treasuer of Weplanet Australia, Tyrone will be speaking to us about what he feels is the burning topic of the day.
Bio: "My passion is policy development and ensuring policies have a positive influence on our beautiful world and societies. I was a member of the Greens for several years including running for both federal parliament and local government. There are scientific blindspots in the Green movement in Australia, such as in gene technology and nuclear energy. These weaken our ability to solve environmental and social challenges. Thatβs why I have led the founding of WePlanet Australia."
Tammy Franks, Independent MLC (South Australia)

With a background of working in community organisations such as Amnesty International and the YWCA, holding such positions such as Policy Officer for the Mental Health Coalition of South Australia, she became the Higher Education and Youth Advisor for Democrats senator Natasha Stott Despoja in 1995 and undertook a secondment to the 'Yes' campaign for the Australian Republic Movement under the leadership of Malcolm Turnbull during the 1999 republic referendum campaign.
First running as a candidate for the Democrats in 2004, and then being elected in 2010 after joining the Greens in 2006, Tammy has been a member of the SA Legislative Council ever since. In 2018 she introduced landmark Abortion Law Reform for South Australia which was successfully passed into law.
Earlier this year she separated from the Greens to stand independently.
