My name is Chris Simpson, your Democracy First / Fusion Queensland candidate for the Senate in the upcoming federal election. I am standing for election as I believe we need people with real life experience to represent us in Canberra. I believe strongly in getting career politicians out of Canberra, now!

Chris Simpson – Independent Senate Candidate for Queensland

Chris Simpson is a skilled tradesman, builder, project manager, and advocate for real-world experience in politics. As a Democracy First candidate for the Senate, he believes career politicians must be replaced by people who understand the challenges faced by everyday Australians.

Coming from humble beginnings, Chris started his career as an apprentice Fitter & Machinist at 16, laying the foundation for a diverse and accomplished career in construction, project management, and education. Now, he is stepping forward to give back to the community and fight for meaningful reforms that will secure Australia’s future.

A Career Built on Real-World Experience

Chris has worked across multiple industries, giving him first-hand insight into the issues affecting Australia’s workforce, economy, and future prosperity. His experience includes:

  • Trade & Construction: A qualified Fitter & Machinist and licensed builder in Queensland, he understands the severe shortage of skilled trades across the country. As a former Master Builders QLD member, he has seen firsthand the barriers preventing young people from entering the industry.
  • Education & Training: A former workplace trainer and assessor in Cert I Engineering, Chris is passionate about restructuring education to integrate TAFE and high school (VET) training, ensuring young Australians have the best opportunities for success.
  • Major Projects & Infrastructure: With a Master’s in Project Management from QUT, Chris has extensive management experience in mega projects across oil & gas, mining, chemicals, and nuclear industries. His career highlights include:
    • Supervising the construction of the replacement research nuclear reactor at Lucas Heights (2003-2004).
    • Spending 5.5 years on the $34 billion INPEX Project in Darwin.
  • Community & Volunteer Work: Chris has dedicated time to community service, food preparation, community gardens, and serving on multiple not-for-profit boards.

A Vision for Australia's Future

Chris is committed to economic resilience, innovation, and workforce development. His key priorities include:
Restructuring education and vocational training to equip young Australians with the skills needed for the future.
Rebuilding Australian manufacturing by finding local markets for our steel and aluminium, ensuring Australia remains self-reliant amid global trade challenges.
Driving innovation in business and industry, supporting AI, drones, and new business models that create national incentives.

A Call for Strong Leadership

Chris firmly believes that ignoring global economic shifts will be at Australia’s peril. The nation must adapt, innovate, and take control of its own future. His leadership is based on practical experience, not political rhetoric—the kind of leadership Canberra desperately needs.
