We've just launched a Fusion Party Minecraft server at fusionparty.org.au, and right now it's a blank canvas waiting for our community to define what it becomes.

Why Minecraft?

Political organising isn't just about policies and campaigns. It's about building a community of people who share values and enjoy spending time together. Minecraft offers us a unique space to do exactly that, where we can collaborate on projects, experiment with governance models, and simply have fun together outside the usual party activities.

Whether you're interested in building utopian cities that reflect our policy vision, creating collaborative infrastructure projects, or just mining and chatting with fellow members, this server is for all of us.

We Need Your Input

Before we commit to any particular direction, we want to hear from you about what kind of server would bring our community together. We're asking for your thoughts on:

  • Primary game mode: Should we run a Survival Multiplayer (SMP) server where we build together from scratch? A Creative server for unrestricted building? A Towny server with player-run towns and economies? Something with PVP elements? Or something else entirely?
  • Mini-games and secondary features: Beyond the main game mode, what additional activities would you enjoy? Parkour challenges? PVP arenas? Building competitions? Custom quests?
  • Custom content vs vanilla experience: Do you prefer a vanilla Minecraft experience that stays true to the core game, or would you like custom plugins, modpacks, and unique features that expand what's possible?
  • Server monetisation approach: Should we keep the server entirely free to play? Offer optional cosmetic perks? Use it as a membership benefit? We want to balance sustainability with accessibility.
  • Community priorities and server culture: What values should guide how we interact on the server? How do we want to handle collaboration, conflict resolution, and community projects?

Whether you're a seasoned Minecraft veteran with thousands of hours logged, or someone who's barely touched the game but is curious about joining, your preferences matter. The survey takes about 5 minutes, and every question is optional. You can share as much or as little as you want.

We're organising the Minecraft community (and much more) through our Discord server. It's where members coordinate activities, share ideas, work on party projects, and hang out between formal party business. If you haven't joined yet, now's a great time.

The Minecraft server will be integrated with our Discord, so you'll be able to see who's online, coordinate building projects, and stay connected with the community even when you're not in-game.

Building Something Together

This project reflects something central to Fusion's identity. We're not just a political party, we're a community of people who believe in evidence-based policy, rational decision-making, and building a better future together. A Minecraft server might seem like a small thing, but it's another space where we can practice those values, experiment with ideas, and strengthen the bonds that make our movement more than just a collection of policies.

We're aiming to create something that's genuinely fun to play while reflecting who we are as a community. That starts with hearing from you.

Let's build something great together.

About the Server

The Fusion Party Minecraft server is hosted at fusionparty.org.au and runs on professional and carbon-neutral infrastructure to ensure reliable performance. Technical details, connection guides, and community rules will be shared once we've gathered input from this survey and made decisions about the server's direction.

Not a member yet? You're welcome to participate in the survey and join our Discord to learn more about Fusion Party. If you're interested in becoming a member, visit fusionparty.org.au/join.
