Introduction to Neurotechnology and its Ethical Considerations

What is the state of the art for neurotechnology and how will it be impacting Australia? These are questions not just about technology, but also about ethics  🧠🤖🤲

As our speaker, we are thrilled to welcome Reuben Richardson, the founding president of UQ Neurotech and a student at UQ 🎓✨ Reuben is currently in his 4th year of a dual bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Biomedical Engineering major) and Computer Science (Machine Learning major) at the University of Queensland. As an Undergraduate he has completed research for the UQ Biorobotics Lab, working on electrostimulation of insects and wireless camera computer vision. Driven by a deep interest in neurotechnology, Reuben is dedicated to exploring its capacity to treat diseases, catalyse scientific advancements, and expand human agency. His interdisciplinary approach, combining biomedical engineering with machine learning, positions him at the forefront of this rapidly evolving field. He is committed to advancing both the technology and the conversation around the ethical implications of neurotechnology. Join us as Reuben shares insights from the UNESCO International Conference on the Ethics of Neurotechnology. 🚀🧠
