Our vision
We want to create and grow a community within Fusion, so it creates a collaborative, engaging and productive movement which is intrinsically-motivated to support self-sustaining momentum. We need a groundforce, and that takes intentional time and relationship building to create a robust group.
This needs putting a face and voices to Fusion, as well as a centralised hub where everyone can participate or listen in to the internal Fusion conversation. This is how we can support communicating with each other as Fusion, and also be engaged with the conversation in the “outside world”.
In person meetups are the best for this. The second best is voice, using phones or some kind of VOIP/voice chat program such as Discord. Therefore, having active phonebanking is an important part of all Fusion campaigns.
Getting started
To become a fully fledged Fusion volunteer who is calling members, you can start the process here any time:
Step 1
In your own time, read through Fusion phonebanking training guide (approx 20 mins). Once you are done you can send any questions or suggestions to [email protected] or your campaign manager
Step 2
Read through Personally Identifiable Information (PII) Data Access Agreement (approx 2-5 mins). Once you are done, email [email protected] or your campaign manager to say a) you have read and understood b) you agree to the Terms of Access (you will be brought on as a "People Manager")
Step 3
A party officer from IT/Engagement/Campaigns/Membership will create you a Nationbuilder account to access the member database. You can login to it here: https://futureparty.nationbuilder.com/forms/user_sessions/new
Step 4
At the next stage you have joined or will be assigned to a campaign of your choice. Your campaign manager will give you an induction and a call script which explains key information such as a) campaign goals b) campaign duration c) target region/timezone d) target number of calls
Step 5
Your campaign manager will assign you an initial set of about 10-20 people to call. Each time you finish, they will assign another group of people to call while doing periodic debriefs. Remember to leave informative call notes so that your campaign manager, membership officers, or future volunteers can have a good idea of any followup action needed!
Finished
And thanks for volunteering. You are helping to build our community towards taking action for a positive future in Australia.
