Substance of Motions
1. Critical Functional Changes
"That the Critical Functional Changes amendments proposed to the RULES OF ASSOCIATION for v1.6 of the Fusion Political Party Constitution be accepted in their entirety."
Refer to material content of Critical Functional Changes (Github Link).
Moved by: Drew Wolfendale
These changes achieve 3 primary goals:
- Resolve potential regulatory challenges between existing process and constitutional requirements.
- Change the scaling quorum requirements to something more appropriate for an organisation of this size. (i.e. This meeting requires 82 for quorum, but would require 40 afterwards.)
- Enables flexibility with branches around State organising, and improves clarity on branch requirements as from the DRC Recommendations last year.
2. Code of Conduct Alignment Changes
"That the Code of Conduct Alignment Changes amendments proposed to the RULES OF ASSOCIATION for v1.6 of the Fusion Political Party Constitution be accepted in their entirety."
Refer to material content of Code of Conduct Alignment Changes (Github Link).

These changes align the content of the Constitution and CoC so that the content is divided consistently between the two instead of being mixed. (Reference: New Code of Conduct V3)
3. General Operational Changes
"That the General Operational Changes amendments proposed to the RULES OF ASSOCIATION for v1.6 of the Fusion Political Party Constitution be accepted in their entirety."
Refer to material content of General Operational Changes (Github Link).
Moved by: Drew Wolfendale
These changes generally aspire to achieve the following goals:
- Remove administrative overheads that have shown to increase burden on volunteer energy for zero or negative practical benefit.
- Reduce specific references where specific references are not required to minimise the potential for conflicts to be introduced in future updates.
- Ensure branches have the right to be involved in ordinary party activities.
- Increase democratic selection processes without mandating processes on matters which can be resolved between potential candidates.
- Improve defensive measures that enable the party to handle conflicts between areas, with robust notice requirements.
Further Information
The combination of all of the changes from the motions, as well as myriad fixes to formatting, capitalisation, etc. are available here.
This is a messy diff to read which is why the changes have been extracted separately to their own links in the motions above.
